Waitata Bay, New Zealand - Tolerated Nude Beach

To find Waitata Bay drive 60km north of Whangarei on the SH1 then turn right at Kawakawa, follow the signs to Opua, cross on the ferry, and drive on to Russell. Long Beach is closer to the residential area and therefore busier with more clothed bathers, although there are two small coves for nude bathing at the north end. Look for a 100m long track (close to the toilets) which leads to the coves. Nearby Donkey Beach is easier to access however, and more popular with naturists.
