Here are directions from the Rocamarina hotel in Cala D'or to Es Trenc. From the hotel, go to end of one-way street and turn right. At the next roundabout (about 100 yards) take first exit (right). Follow the road as it goes round a bend and up to a roundabout. Take second exit signposted "Porto Petra". Follow this road as it splits into a one-way road, round the bay and past the restaurant "Pavarotti". Turn right at the next junction heading for the town, "Alqueria Blanca". The road goes straight through this town and on towards a large town called, "Santanyi". Just before Santanyi, there is a turning right, which bypasses the centre and should be signposted "Palma". Follow this road, across the next roundabout and then take the first exit (right) at the next roundabout (there is a supermarket on the opposite side of the roundabout as you approach it). This road takes you towards a large town called "Campos" This road is quite long and straight. Just as you approach Campos, there are four blue windmills on your left, followed by another two windmills, one on each side of the road (if I remember right, one is blue and one is green). Just after these windmills is a turning left signposted, "Colonia de Saint Jordi" and "Es Trenc". Follow this road for a couple of miles, past the dairy with the smelly cows and across the next roundabout. You should now be on a dual carriageway road. When this dual carriageway ends, almost exactly a kilometre further is an old windmill base (no sails) with a sign for Es Trenc. Turn right and follow the narrow road past the salt lakes to the end, where you will find a carpark. Pay the man 5 euros and drive as far as you can to the front (best if you get there about 10.00am). Walk to the beach and turn right. It gets very crowded at the first beach bar so the best advice is to grab your sun beds as close as possible to the second beach bar. If you look back into the dunes at this point, you will find another, more upmarket restaurant just a short walk away. Take as little or as much clothes off as you dare and happy tanning! It should take you about 45 minutes from the hotel to the beach. - Brian C, KENT
