Obelisk Beach
is in Sydney Harbour National Park, on a peninsula known as Middle Head. To reach it from central Sydney, cross the Harbour Bridge and head towards Neutral Bay along Route 14 (Military Road). Continue on through Spit Junction and Mosman Junction and bear left into Middle Head Road at the junction where Military Road becomes Bradleys Head Road. Drive along Middle Head Road until it ends at Chowder Bay Road and take the first turn right, continuing along an unnamed road for 100 metres. Park and continue on foot to this official nude beach. There is also a small nude beach on the northern side of Middle Head called Cobblers Beach. Many thanks to Jo Mulholland for his assistance in compiling this entry. |

For several years at Obelisk Beach, the Dare To Be Bare
event was held annually by the NSW FBA to raise money for the Fred Hollows Foundation which seeks to improve the health outcomes of Indigenous Australians. Please make a donation to this good cause if you can afford it. Click here to view photos of this event. |
